Editorial
Well, if it's not too late let me wish you a Happy New Year! As I launch out onto my seventh year as Editor of The Fulwood Methodist, I've produced another Appraisal— as much for my own benefit as yours, I think.
Chris Hoban worked very hard on her Church Calendar project and I am delighted that her efforts warranted a mention in the January / February issue of Flame. We also have information for you on the destinations of the gifts from our Toy Service in December— far more widespread than has sometimes been the case. Arnold Hindley has been busy yet again: how grateful we are for his looking back descriptions of Fulwood. Sadly, he thinks this may be his final offering.
Again I must stress our appreciation for all the help which goes into producing the magazine, and into its distribution. Our volunteers do an excellent job, none more so than John Butterworth— who has the considerable task of setting out the whole product ready for printing and the internet. However, if you are involved anywhere along the line, please accept our sincere thanks.
I'm not yet aware of anyone beating down the doors and
demanding to take over as editor, so— with your approval— I'll carry
on
a
little longer! When things are not going too smoothly I suppose I shall simply
have to call upon some words from The Covenant Service to help me along: Give
me the joy of your help again and strengthen me with a willing spirit
!
Anyone inspired to provide us with material for the next issue, please note the copy date: Sunday, 12th June.
P.S. Thanks to your marvellous response to the Tsunami Disaster Appeal, £4,500 (including Gift Aid) was forwarded via MRDF. God bless you all.
