Circuit news
This summer we say farewell to Michael Tinsley and his family. Michael is the minister with care of Longridge, Ribbleton and Brookfield churches and will be moving to be the Superintendent of the Ormskirk Circuit, living in Burscough. We wish Michael, Joyce, Catherine and Daniel happiness in their new home.
Christchurch, Longridge, is a joint Methodist / URC congregation. Therefore the next minister will come from the URC tradition and will be shared with Fulwood URC. This means that the pastoral responsibility for Ribbleton Avenue and Brookfield has to be shared by other ministers— primarily Peter & Myrtle. From September Myrtle will care for these congregations and Peter will become a Governor for Ribbleton Avenue Methodist School which is also in our Circuit's care.
The monthly congregation meeting at Longsands Millennium Hall has now ceased, with the Scouts moving their Parade service to Fulwood, we have also welcomed a number of new families from Longsands into our congregation.
Peter & Myrtle's appointments currently run until September 2006. During the summer the Circuit stewards will talk to them and the church and circuit about the future.
