Church Calendar newsCalendar

Chris or Phil Hoban have seen many of you, and taken your photographs, in all sorts of places over the last few months. They want to thank you for your letting them in with their cameras.

The Selection Committee met in July to choose the photographs for the calendar. This was a very difficult task and it is just a pity there are not 20 months in the year! To compensate for the people and photographs not included, there is going to be an Exhibition on Saturday 2nd October, entitled The Ones That Got Away. (These photos may have one or two surprises to view.) This event will also include the launch of the calendar.

Chris wants to thank everyone for their prayers and does not want you to stop now. The job of selling the calendar is just as important as the production of it. There are only 500 being printed and this calendar may well wing its way all over the country and, who knows, the world! This is also a celebration of Myrtle's (Harry Potter in disguise) year as Vice President.

Chris was 60 in August. She was otherwise occupied at the time and didn't bring in a cake to share. However she will bring a birthday-cum-calendar launch cake to celebrate with everyone on 2nd October at the Building Together Coffee Morning. There will be balloons for children who come. Please come and join her celebrations and, of course, order your calendars! It is hoped to open up sales to our church first and then Circuit and District slightly afterwards. The Souvenir Calendar will make an excellent Christmas present for Grandma, Aunty, and Uncle Tom Cobbly and All.

Please remember to inform anyone you know of who has moved away, but still has connections with the church. This Souvenir Calendar will never be repeated, and would let your friends see faces long forgotten and new ones too. Those young children they remember are probably parents themselves by now and not frozen in time!

There are photographs of Church members of all ages on outings and also at their normal meetings. It is A3 in size and in glorious Technicolour! The top half of each page shows a photograph or photographs of the different groups. Alongside are the business adverts and family news, which provided the sponsorship enabling this calendar to be produced. The lower half is a chunky organiser/calendar. The calendar will cost £5— a snip when you consider the printer is producing such a small run for this project.
