Gospel for allMethodist Church logo: white cross on a red disc
We confess our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord of all. This is the Good News. This is our Gospel. We acknowledge that the Church must discover new ways of sharing that this Gospel is for all.
We commit ourselves, as God's people in the North Lancashire District, to find new ways of communicating the Gospel.
We urge every Circuit to report one new initiative to Spring Synod 2004.
A Church for all
We proclaim that Jesus Christ came for all people and that the Church is the body of Christ alive in the world today. We believe the Church is for all people and so confess that Christ's body is broken and incomplete.
We therefore commit ourselves to work together as Churches, in Circuits and ecumenically, to discover ways of reaching those groups of people who are not yet part of the Church.
We urge every Church to see this as a matter of urgency and to share new initiatives with Spring Synod 2004.
For all the world
We celebrate that from the day of Pentecost the Gospel has been proclaimed throughout the world: And that for the people called Methodists the world has become our Parish.
We commit ourselves to pray for our sisters and brothers within the World Church Family.
We commit our District to twin with partner Churches around the world, so that we can discover the joy and gifts of belonging to the World Church and learn how to share our resources with each other.
Justice for all
We confess that we live in a world where there is inequality and injustice for many.
We commit ourselves, through prayer and action, as individuals and Churches to seek justice for all so the Kingdom of God may come.
We encourage Methodists in North Lancashire to support the "Trade for Life" campaign and to work towards becoming a "Fair Trade District" where every Church uses fairly-traded tea and coffee.

These commitments were made at the Wesley Tercentenary Service held in Blackburn Cathedral on 5th July 2003.
