Music at Fulwood

Treble clefFulwood Methodist Church is looking for a committed musician with the ability to play the organ, to join our music team and to work alongside us to develop the music, both choral and instrumental, within the worship of the Church. The team at present consists of Stuart Bell, Mavis Fletcher and Stephen Grice, although there are other musicians who are able to help from time to time.

Responsibility for music in worship will be shared amongst the team. We would love to welcome someone who is keen to use their musical gifts with us to enhance our worship.

Resources

  • A long established adult choir
  • The beginnings of a worship band.
  • Lots of talent waiting to be tapped.
  • A thriving ACTS group which has performed a number of very successful productions (including Oliver and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and who take part from time to time in drama within worship.
  • Inspirations— experiments in new ways to worship using some new hymns and songs. Held once a month on a Sunday evening.

We are asking everyone to take this request to heart. We have been well served by our church musicians in these past years and have a wonderful musical heritage at Fulwood. We must not let that go. Please be active in asking, if you know anyone who might fit this particular need and even more active in coming and "having a go" at joining a group of singers or instrumentalists yourself! There is room for all even if you cannot promise to be available every week.

Mavis Fletcher

I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to.

Elvis Presley (1935-1977)

It's easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.

J. S. Bach
