Two leading Christian Politicians are coming to Preston to speak at a half day conference organized by Preston Christian Action Network (PCAN) in partnership with Preston Evangelical Network (PEN).
The Rt. Hon. Stephen Timms, Labour MP for East Ham was appointed Minister for Competitiveness in June 2007. Alistair Burt, Conservative MP for North East Bedfordshire is Shadow Minister for Local Government and Regeneration.
They will be joined by other local elected politicians from various party and faith backgrounds in a Question Time
style forum. The event will be held at The Salvation Army Preston, Harrington Street Preston PR1 7BN on Saturday, 29th September from 9.30am-2pm.
Anyone wishing to attend must reserve a place by sending an email to pcan@maister-smith.fsnet.co.uk. or phoning Greg Smith on 01772 555425.
There is a £10 charge for the event which includes lunch, with a reduction to £5 for unwaged people. Organiser Greg Smith said, It is a privilege to have two such high ranking politicians at our conference. This is a unique chance for local Christians to consider getting involved in political processes which can impact society, to reflect Biblically on politics and to pray together for our politicians

Tanterton Christian Centre, Kidsgrove, Ingol. Saturday, 19th November from 7pm
May we remind you of the John Archer event, which is being held on the 19th of November at Deepdale, Preston North End’s football ground?
It promises to be a night of excellent entertainment and a chance for non-Christians to get a positive view of Christianity. The hope is that if you have any folk on the fringe of your churches you will buy some tickets and bring them along to this event. We are hoping for around 300 people to be there which will add to the atmosphere. Please could you think about this as something you and your church could support and use as an evangelistic tool.
The tickets cost £4 each. Why not buy a number of them and distribute them to those whom you think would appreciate a good night out? All I ask is that you pay for all the tickets you take as it would cause a few financial headaches to receive 50 returned (and unpaid for) tickets on the night.
To purchase tickets could you please telephone me on 01254 200889 or Catherine Moxon on 01254 201109.
Make sure you are not the one who is disappointed having missed out on this event!
God bless,
Nick
If so why don’t you call in at Kirkham URC (Chris Hoban’s previous church) between 17th and 19th June.
Chris along with her friend Diane Bibby have been working for weeks on the theme Feed My Lambs
to bring to life in flowers, Jesus with children around him. They are also doing the Sunday School Movement. The church is celebrating 200 years of worship. Other arrangements tell the story of Kirkham’s past industries, e.g. the railways, sail making and the flax industry. There will be a craft fair and food and drink available. There will be a rota of organists playing the organ and special services all surrounded with the perfume and delight of the flowers. There is a special service in the morning by their past minister Rev. Charles Reid from Minnesota, as well as a Songs of Praise on the Sunday. The church is on the main street in Kirkham and has parking behind, both near the Community Centre or two hours free at Morrisons. You could even do your shopping that day! What more could you ask for a perfect day out?
