The Circuit accepts the following basic commitments:

• A commitment to growth, including numerical growth
• A commitment to developing an effective ministry among children and young people
• A commitment to make the worship offered in our Churches of the highest possible quality.
• A commitment to develop effective pastoral care across the Circuit.
• A commitment to develop the ministry of the whole people of God.
• A commitment to increase giving for future growth.
• A commitment to the local community and the wider world.

The Circuit is committed to continuing and developing the church plants at Longsands and Cottam, working with ecumenical partners as fully as possible.

The Circuit is committed to supporting work at the University, City Centre and the Methodist Junior School.

As part of the commitment to growth and effective ministry, the Circuit accepts the
following principles:

• We need to release both ordained and lay people from being dominated by administration and maintenance to be free for mission and ministry.
• We believe in the ministry of the whole people of God. Ordained and lay form part of the total ministry of the Church, and complement each other.
• Across the Circuit, with an agreed understanding of our overall mission, we need to collaborate and use the resources that are available to us to achieve
  our goals.
