Text and Prayer for the week

Matthew 10:40 & 42
`Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Truly I tell you: anyone who gives so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple of mine, will certainly not go unrewarded.’

Living Lord, help us to see you in one another, and to show you our love by meeting one another’s needs.

Set your video

Hi

10 people on The Debt March to Edinburgh for the G8 summit stayed at
Fulwood overnight last night, Thursday, and set out for Garstang and
Lancaster today. They were accompanied by the BBC Politics Show cameraman
and director who were recording for Sunday’s programme at 12noon, so set
your videos and you might see them leaving Fulwood.

Text and Prayer for the week

Matthew 10:29-31

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet without your Father’s knowledge not one of them can fall to the ground. As for you, even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than any number of sparrows.

Wonderful God, thank you for loving me with a parent’s vigilant love. Thank you for cherishing me and making me feel special.

Ladies’ Coast to Coast walk

We are seeking sponsorship as a group to complete the 190 mile Coast to Coast walk this September.

Several members hope to complete the whole walk with others joining them for shorter periods.

We hope to have a sponsor form available online within the next few days.

Thank you for your encouragement and support.

Text and Prayer for the week

Matthew 9:35 - 38
So Jesus went round all the towns and villages, proclaiming the good news
of the kingdom.
The sight of the crowds moved him to pity: they were like sheep without a
shepherd. He said to his disciples, `The crop is heavy, but the labourers
too few; you must ask the owner to send labourers to bring in the
harvest.’

Loving Shepherd, help us to share the good news of your love and peace
with those who feel lost, uncared for, or afraid.

Text and prayer for this week

Text and Prayer for the week.

Matthew 9:12 - 13
Jesus said, `It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Go and
learn what this text means, “I require mercy, not sacrifice.” I did not
come to call the virtuous, but sinners.’

Saving God, when I feel I fail to live as a Christian should, help me
remember that you can draw closest to those who know they need your help.
