Do remember that the clocks move forward this Sunday. You will need, therefore, to leave an hour earlier than normal in order to get to church on time!

Building Together on Mother’s Day
The Acts performance of the Biblical Mystery Tour
was very enjoyable indeed! It was very pleasing to see so many young people taking part and obviously enjoying themselves. As usual it was an excellent production and our thanks go to all involved (of which there are too many to list here). Money raising is not what it is all about— the main purpose of Acts is fellowship within the church but we are delighted to report that £2 750 has been raised in a highly enjoyable fashion. Thank you to everyone who took part, helped in any way or came to support.
Forthcoming events
Moor Park fun run
We are organising a sponsored 5km run and a 3km run / walk around the park on Saturday, 29th April. Registration and sponsor forms are available from either Barbara Hothersall (01772 716203) or the leaders of the uniformed organisations.
This year we will have the facilities of the pavilion on the park for toilets, changing, registration and keeping out of the wind! Details of the times, etc. are printed on the registration forms.
Spring plant sale
This will be held on Saturday, 20th May. This year it will take place earlier in the day to fit in where possible with the arrangements of the Ladies Weekend activities. The sale will begin at 12 noon (advance orders may also be collected then) and will finish about 2 pm. Refreshments will be available at church, again as part of the Ladies Weekend activity.

Knit for Oxfam
Oxfam are running a pilot project, asking people to knit hats and scarves to sell at music festivals and country fairs later in the year. If you are interested in knitting for Oxfam there are free patterns that you can use, or you can use your own patterns (remember that they are being sold and so you can’t use anything in copyright without permission) and pass them to me in church or take them to the Preston store asking them to pass the items on to the Blackpool store for the knitting project. Download the Hat and scarf patterns in PDF.

Car parking
May we please remind you of the need to show consideration to residents when parking around the church, particularly on Sunday mornings and during big events. Some local residents are being inconvenienced by careless car parking.
Please use the car parks at the back of the church, at the accountants’ on Watling Street Road or at the clinic on Lytham Road if at all possible.
Fulwood Methodist Church development plan
At the end of January we held an afternoon to discuss the future life and work of the church at Fulwood to help us decide about the redevelopment of the premises. As you know the first development plan is not now viable and we need to find a new, reduced, way forward. We want to invite you and the whole church to design, in words or pictures, your vision of the renewed church building. In whatever way you prefer we would be pleased for you to let us have your ideas for the premises. Continue reading Fulwood Methodist Church development plan
Finances
We are grateful to those who make regular donations to the church either using the weekly offering envelopes or through Standing Orders from the bank. It seems as if this annual letter is always to encourage people to increase their giving, at least in line with inflation, because sadly the church is still running at a loss. News from Nkanfoa #13
March 10th 2006: Lucky or unlucky 13!
The holidays were great but unfortunately at the end both Michael and Diana ended up with severe stomach bugs which meant a seven day course of antibiotics for both of them which then resulted in a bad ME flare-up for Diana from which she is still trying to recover. In temperatures of 33°C, high humidity and in a country where ME is unknown folks cannot understand why Diana cannot just take something and be fine. She knows she will get through this but rather it was sooner, not later.
Recent highlights
Work has actually started on the Pre-Vocational and Pre-Technical workshops
Sainsbury’s Schools vouchers and Tesco IT vouchers
If anyone has any vouchers and no school to support would you consider giving them to our school Moorfield Special School please?
Please put vouchers in an envelope for Veronica Frost and either put in the “E-F” pigeon hole or hand them to me at church.Thank you.
Thanks very much,
