Junior Church in August

Every year we decide to keep Junior Church running over the holiday period. There are many reasons for this— we want to maintain relationships with the children and young people; we don’t want to change the habit of coming to church, etc. However, we also feel that the leaders should have a break so we need your help.

We would really appreciate any offers of help for July or August. Activities and session guidelines are available but if you would prefer to organise a games session, use a video or read a story that would be just as helpful. Please contact me if you could help out for one or two sessions. We will be truly grateful.

Building June Together

The plant sale was a success, in spite of the awful weather which put a blight on the Ladies’ Weekend. Red and yellow againOnce the bills have been paid we will be able to report on the amount taken. Our thanks go to all who helped: Edna Armstrong, Joan Hardman, Lyn and Ian Fenton, Morag McManus, Tom McAllister, Ellen Gregory, Doreen Britton and Audrey Harrison. Ellen, Audrey and Doreen found themselves suddenly co-opted and were certainly appreciated. A special thank you goes to Kay Speight who was in charge of the money and to Amanda Latham’s daughter and friend who, as part of FC2, helped carry plants for folk. We thank Phil Dunnett for coming and dispensing his invaluable advice and to all who came and bought. Thank you to Mavis Fletcher for submitting the orders and for all the work that entailed as well as to Sue Penrith who helped to return the unsold plants to the nurseries. If I have omitted anyone then I do apologise but it was so hectic on the day that I might very well have missed someone.
