The Book Sale, though fairly quiet, raised over Saturday and Sunday, the acceptable sum of £225.64. Thanks to Sue Penrith and Liz Huddleston who helped set it all up on the Friday and to those who helped at the sale— Lyn Fenton, Mavis Fletcher, Charlotte Penrith, Jan Astley, Thelma Williams, Jacqueline Clarke, Veronica Frost, Liz Huddleston and Morag McManus and all who helped on the Sunday. The remaining books are going to a good home.

Walking treasure hunt
On Sunday, 13th August a Walking Treasure Hunt is being arranged beginning and ending from outside the Anderton Arms in Longsands. Full details will be available next week.
Minster visit
On Tuesday, 29th August we are arranging a visit to the Minster Church of St John the Evangelist.
Commencing at 7.00pm for a talk, tour and a buffet supper. Tickets priced 10.00 on sale after service or contact one of the Fund Raising team.

We are pleased to report that our total raised is £98 649.16 (£1 296.90 since May). This has come about in various ways: the Guides donated £25.00, Richard Holyfield has sold two cars (£100), the Ladies Weekend (although not specifically a fund raising event) gave us £100, the Plant Sale raised £542.65 (brilliant considering the awful weather). The Moor Park Fun Run netted £1 008 and there will be gift-aided monies to come.
The Barbecue at the Penrith’s was a lovely evening and the rain kept off until the last hour but we had the loan of the Scouts’ tent so all was well. We raised
