Toy and Gift Service

On Sunday 9th December, at our morning worship at 10.30am, we will be collecting our annual gifts for the children and families of Preston who need our support over Christmas. Toys, new or as-new (not wrapped), gifts for teenagers and items such as toiletries would be appreciated.
Our gifts will be received and distributed through groups such as Preston Parenting, Women’s Refuge, Domestic Violence Unit, & North British Housing.

ACTS Musical

ACTS
The next production will be a musical called THE PEACE CHILD. It will be performed in church during the February half term. 18-24 February 2008. This is a modern musical for adults & children and we will need a lot of volunteers! We need many people (adult & young) to take small speaking parts (usually just one or two lines) There are a few parts, which are more substantial, but none are very demanding. So this year, parts will be allocated on a different basis than formal auditions. We need all the usual back up people including musicians and a non-acting choral group. We would like everyone who wishes to be part of this production to come to church at 2.00pm on Sunday 9th December, to find out more. If you can’t come but definitely want to be included, please speak to Delma Whitman.

Junior Church calendar: Winter 2007

The Junior Church Winter 2007 calendar is now available for download.

Children in Need

On Friday, without doing anything so rash as actually planning properly ahead, Luke Bosman asked some of his friends and colleagues to sponsor him to cycle the 20 miles home from where he works just outside Bolton. So far, he has raised around £115 for Children in Need.

If you would like to sponsor him, please either visit justgiving.com/lukebosman or speak to Luke directly.

Building Together in mid-November

Money continues to flow in! Another £100 from Evans Halshaw from Richard’s efforts. The last Cake Stall raised £38.00. Veronica, Liz and Mavis have all raised money from selling their cards at the Card Sale.

The June Baker Concert raised £249.50 which included a donation from the choir which was very good of them. It was an excellent concert and much enjoyed by the audience. Our thanks go to Barry Crosssley for arranging it, to all the folk who moved the pews beforehand, to Joan and Ann for manning the door, and to Joan, Veronica, Doreen and Dot for doing the refreshments.

Anne Conchie raised £161.00 from the Great North Run. Thank you very much indeed, Anne, and thanks also to everyone who sponsored her.

Building Together in November

The Junior Church and the Women’s Fellowship have been filling Smartie tubes with coins and the money is coming in nicely. We will report the final amount raised in due course. Another £50.00 has come in from the sale of a car bringing the total to £1,400 which is brilliant. Thank you very much Richard for your hard work. The Winter Pansy Sale went well. Thanks to Mavis for arranging it and to helpers Len, Edna and Ray, Thelma, Joan and Kay and Dave and Alan. We will publish the amount raised once
