Drummer required

His own drummer: image copyright Stephanie Carter

The Worship Band is re-forming and we’re hoping to start making effective contributions to Worship very soon! But, we really, really need a good drummer who can play a variety of styles— including rock based rhythms— and who is able to join us at our regular weekly practice sessions which are usually held on Tuesday evenings.

Contact Mike Cushing on 07866 476639 for more details!

Building Together in December

The Winter Pansy Sale brought in £163.00 after the bills were paid. The Pamper Night raised £188.70 which was very good considering the small number of ladies attending. Those that did enjoyed themselves and our thanks go to Amanda for organising it and to Joan Hardman, Jacqueline Clarke, Judith Harvey and Joan Smith for their assistance. Amanda’s daughter Sarah, aassisted by her friends Charlotte and Natalie, looked after the younger ladies while the rest of us had our nails painted, hands massaged and sampled the delights of the Body Shop. The beauty therapy students enjoyed themselves and appreciated the opportunity to show off their skills.

The Christmas Fair was well supported and raised over £2 400. It was an enjoyable day and many thanks to all the folk who helped make it such a success.

Carols in the parlour

Come to the Parlour at 8pm on Wednesday, 19th December after the Peacelight Service and and sing your favourite carol, listen to readings both serious and light hearted. Enjoy mince pies and mulled non-alcoholic wine.

January’s events include the Cake Stall on Sunday, 6th, the Jigsaw Puzzle Sale and Coffee Morning on Saturday, 12th and the Pudding Tasting Evening on Saturday, 26th. In February ACTS will perform “The Peace Child” and in March the KEQM Singers and instrumentalist will stage a concert.
