Building Together News No.3 27th April 2008

The April Cake and Produce Stall was very successful and brought in £998.35 which was excellent. Thank you to everyone who baked cakes etc., for us.
The next one will be on Sunday 4th May. Katy Hamilton has given us £18.30 which she raised from her cake baking for Network Rail. Thank you very much indeed, Katy. Money from the Smartie tubes continues to come in. If you have not let us have yours, please give it to one of the Fund Raising team as soon as you have filled your tube.

On the evening of Saturday 19th April, a small number of folk met at Ribblesdale Nurseries to chat to Angela and Phil and to have a look around at their latest developments. It was not the warmest of evenings but the rain held off and we all had a pleasant evening. £66.50 was raised which was very satisfying. Our thanks go to Angela and Phil for their hospitality and time.
Phil will be joining us at the Plant Sale next month.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

SPONSORED CANAL WALK
This will take place next Saturday 3rd May. The closing date for registration is on Wednesday 30th so if you have not yet handed in your form please do so by then or you will not be able to take part. The times for the beginning of the walks are as follows: 10 mile 10.30 from Guy’s Restaurant, 7 miles 11.30 Moor Side Bridge (No 35), 5 mile Blackledge Bridge (No 30) and 3 mile from the Hand and Dagger. We would ask you to arrive at the start of your walk promptly so that Don Bryson can tick you off his list before he has to drive back to Church to pick up the folk for the next walk. Folk who require transport will be notified beforehand of the time the minibus will be leaving Church. A small donation towards fuel costs would be appreciated. The four walks come off the canal at bridge No 15 (there will be a marshall standing there to guide walkers. It is about 10 minutes walk across the field and into the park to the tent and cups of tea etc.) We hope everyone enjoys themselves and that it is a fine day.,

SPRING PLANT SALE
This will take place on Saturday 17th May from 12.00pm until 2.00pm.

Phil Dunnett will be here with a selection of his plants and advice.
