Welcome to our Christmas edition. Joyeux Noel
everyone, and a Bonne et Heureuse Année
too! (Just practising: we’ve been invited to a wedding in France in May.)
That was different, wasn’t it? Something else that’s different is the new self-contained centre spread, which some people may wish to pull out and use separately. Again there’s been a good response to our appeal for material for the magazine: so good, in fact, that we must sincerely apologise to those whose items have had to be held over to the next issue. What an enviable problem to have! The next magazine will be for Easter and material will need to be with me by Sunday, 12th March, 2006 – so plan ahead.
Someone remarked on the disappearance of the Albert Road Garage’s advert. after more than twenty years. Sadly the latest in the line of Gregsons to take on the running of the business died quite suddenly and while still a young man: what a tragedy.
My sincere thanks to those who continue to supply me with copies of church magazines from far and wide. They’re interesting and there are some useful things to be learnt from them. One item which caught my eye recently was from the magazine of St Dunstan’s, Canterbury: their weekly church cleaning group are listed in the diary as The Holy Dusters! Isn’t that droll?!
Best wishes everyone.
